Organic? Natural? What's the difference?

Whole Grain Goodness for Everyone
The specialty of Nature’s Path is, and has always been, everything “whole grain”. If you decide to go “gluten free” then there is no healthier option than organic gluten free--products that are not only gluten free but also free of other things that can compromise health. Add to that, Non-GMO Project verified for an extra assurance when it comes to food safety.

Nature’s Path uses gluten-free grains such as buckwheat, quinoa, millet, sorghum, amaranth, brown rice, flax, teff, and whole grain corn.

Amaranth: Long considered a native crop in Peru, amaranth was a major food crop of the ancient Aztecs and played a part in their religious practices as well. Amaranth is gluten free, high in protein, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. It is the only grain that also contains vitamin C.

Brown Rice: Naturally gluten free, whole-grain rice is usually brown but can also be black, purple, or even red. It is one of the most easily digested grains and though it is lower in fiber, it is still rich in many other nutrients.

Buckwheat: It is not technically a grain at all and not any kind of wheat, but rather, a cousin of rhubarb! It is the only grain to have high levels of an antioxidant called rutin and of course, it is gluten free too.

Certified Gluten Free

Certified gluten free and wheat free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization, an independent service that supervises gluten-free food production according to a consistent, defined, science-based standard that is confirmed by field inspections.

Nature’s Path was the first USDA Certified producer of organic breakfast cereal in North America and we're the larges manufacturer of organic cereals to this day.

Many of our gluten-free products are Non-GMO Project verified. GMO crops are found in so many of the foods implicated in health and digestive issues and have yet to be proven safe. We keep them out of our foods because we don’t believe in using people as guinea pigs in a lab experiment.

Quality Assurance International is a third party certification organization that regularly inspects to ensure stringent organic food standards are met.

All Nature’s Path foods are Kosher.

Whole Grain Corn: While it’s true that corn may be familiar, don’t overlook it when it comes to antioxidants. Corn has the highest levels of antioxidants of any grain or vegetable!

Quinoa: It is another “grain” that is not quite a grain. Quinoa is actually a relative of Swiss chard and beets. This gluten free grain was a favorite of the Incas. It comes from South America and is a small, light colored grain that looks a bit like sesame seeds. It is a complete protein, delivering all the essential amino acids our bodies need.

Sorghum: This hearty gluten free grain from Africa thrives where other grains would wither and die. It can be eaten like popcorn, cooked into porridge, or made into flour. It is very popular with people who have gluten issues.

Teff: This is a tiny grain that comes from Africa--it is 1/150th the size of a wheat kernel. The fact that “teff” comes from the word “teffa” meaning “lost” starts to make sense. Teff has a sweet, molasses-like taste and can be used for baked goods, porridge, or "teff polenta". It is high in iron and calcium.

About Nature’s Path

For over 25 years, Nature’s Path has been mastering the art of whole grain baking with cereals, snacks, and waffles that are loaded with whole grain nutrition and wholesome goodness. They bake cereals with basic gluten containing grains used in typical manufacturing such as barley, rye, and oats. Out of the 128 innovative products that Nature’s Path makes twenty percent are certified gluten free--and many of these products are also whole grain.

Organic is Healthier
Organic makes much less impact on the Earth as no synthetic pesticides fertilizers or antibiotics are used and no chemicals are added to the food afterwards. It means less pollution in your world and in your bowl. Organic goes further towards giving you what nature intended--clean, pure, and real food.

Nature’s Path has made America’s favorite gluten-free cereals for longer than anyone else has. Nobody offers a wider range of gluten free breakfast options--they know what makes a great tasting breakfast. You can make Nature’s Path your daily breakfast partner today!

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes gluten free and tastes GOOD!, May 30, 2009
This review is from: EnviroKidz Organic Amazon Frosted Flakes Cereal, 14-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I have Celiacs disease and must eat a gluten free diet or I get very ill. It is great to find a cereal that NEVER makes me ill! It is 100% gluten free!

I also love the taste of this gluten free cereal! This cereal is like corn flakes but without being boring! In fact, I mix them with plain puffed rice to lessen the fruity flavor because I like milder tastes and do not have a big sweet tooth.

Anyway, I love this cereal and highly recommend it to people on gluten free diets...
BUT if you can eat whole grain cereals like wheat and oats EAT THOSE INSTEAD because they contain FIBER which is very needed in keeping your digestive tract healthy.
This cereal is created and designed for those of us who cannot eat whole grains.

MY FAVORITE CEREAL MIX:
1. Gorella munch
2. Gluten Free Rice puffs
3. Amazon Flakes
The mixture is SO good that even non-Celiacs want to eat it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great GF Cereal, December 26, 2009

This review is from: EnviroKidz Organic Amazon Frosted Flakes Cereal, 14-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I've been living gluten free for about a year, and I'm pretty much used to not being able to eat a lot of the foods I used to (wheat pasta, regular bread, etc). But cereal has been tough giving up, which is why I love the whole EnviroKidz line. This particular cereal is great because it's somewhat similar to Kellog's Frosted Flakes, but doesn't taste overly sugary. I've never liked cereals with lots of sugar, and this one doesn't contain a huge amount of sugar. It's also fairly low in sodium, cholesterol, and carbs, which is great. I'd also recommend Gorilla Munch, another EnviroKidz cereal. But these Frosted Flakes taste great (no pun intended.)

My son and daughter need to eat gluten free and after trying several cereals from the health food store, I think this is the best GF frosted corn flakes. I eat them for breakfast even though I don't have to. The price on Amazon is great. I'll definitely buy them again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality organic multigrain cereal, February 6, 2010
This review is from: Country Choice Organic Multi Grain Hot Cereal, 18-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
The Country Choice brand is domestically produced and certified organic by Oregon Tilth.

I bought the Multigrain Hot Cereal the first time by accident instead of the steel cut oats but decided to try it rather than return it and was pleasantly surprised.

It contains rolled whole grain rye, barley, oats, and wheat in that order. It is a great hot breakfast on a chilly morning and a nice change from oatmeal. I like it slightly undercooked and topped with a sliced banana and raisins with a splash of milk.

As far as nutrition, a half cup has 5g of fiber!

Even if you don't like oatmeal, you might want to give this a try.

3.0 out of 5 stars Try One Carton First - Taste "Okay" But Too Mushy For Me, June 30, 2010
By
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Country Choice Organic Multi Grain Hot Cereal, 18-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
This review refers to Country Choice Multi Grain Hot Cereal -

For the last few of years I have been hooked on the Irish style Steel Cut Oats. At first I was buying the McCann's, and then I stumbled onto the Country Choice(also Irish style steel cut), which I found just as tasty and satisfying a meal but at a much better deal here. The Steel Cut Oats have a very different texture from regular oatmeal - creamy but a little chewier feel which I really liked and also it was a meal that kept me going until lunch time without feeling hungry. The steel cut usually takes about 25-30 minutes to prepare and I found they are well worth the wait.

So seeing these and the reviews saying how good they were, I thought I'd add a little variety to my mornings, and reap the benefits of some other type of whole grains. The first thing I found was that these only take 5 minutes max to cook, and I had to make several attempts(even following the directions) to get it to where it... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Best hot cereal I have tasted, August 3, 2010
This review is from: Country Choice Organic Multi Grain Hot Cereal, 18-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I wanted a break from oatmeal every morning although I do love the taste and texture of real, old-fashioned oatmeal.
I decided to try this and I was pretty surprised at how good it is and much I loved the texture. I do not see how you
could improve the product, as it it spot on perfect. I gave it 5 stars.

Love this oatmeal - whole grains, nuts, lightly sweetened. Perfect! I do make my oatmeal with milk so I can't attest to its taste when made with water. Although, it seems like a complete waste to do so. Individual serve packets means they're convenient to take along on vacations. Amazon also has the best price (with the subscribe & save option).

4.0 out of 5 stars Tastes good, large servings, May 7, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Nature's Path Organic Instant Hot Oatmeal, Maple Nut, 8-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
1) SERVING SIZE: The amount of oatmeal per packet is almost twice as much as you get from other oatmeal packets like Quaker or Dr. McDougall's. Note that the box weight and number of packs per box in the Amazon item description is likely wrong (it was for me); zoom in on the image photo, instead, for correct weight and count. If you are making this for kids, you might even feed two small kids with one packet. When comparing the price, calorie count, carbs/sugar, etc. of this oatmeal to other brands, you can't compare it based on number of packets and price of the entire box alone, because you are probably getting almost twice the amount of oatmeal in these boxes of Nature's Path Organic oatmeal.

2) COOKING: Because these packets contain more oatmeal, I needed to add about twice as much water than I would normally add to cook Quaker oatmeal (makes sense!) and about 30 more seconds of cooking time. Then after I remove it from the microwave I add a few dashes of cinnamon... Read more

This really is the best tasting oatmeal I've ever had. It not only tastes great, it actually tastes like it's good for you. (I've been disappointed with other brands that basically taste like processed junk drowned in sugar and salt.) Also, unlike most brands, they give you a nice serving size (Each packet contains 50 grams...I've seen some organic brands at about half that. What a rip off!) Anyway, keep the serving size in mind when you're looking at the 210 calories. You're getting a serving that's 40% - 70% larger than what others offer.
