5.0 out of 5 stars Raisin Bran Omegasm, June 14, 2007

If you've never had flax seed oil before, you may notice a slightly "off" flavor to Nature's Path's version of raisin bran. I think even flax newbies will habituate to this taste, especially because of the familiar taste of the multi-grain flakes and the raisins (see other reviews). As one who sometimes puts a tablespoon of flax seed oil on top of oatmeal, the flax seed flavor was a welcome change from the usual cold cereal offerings.

THis cereal is pretty darn good for you> Obviously, you're gonna want to consult a doctor or nutritionist, and I am neither. From a lay person's pont of view, however, the 11 grams of fiber("11 WHOPPING grams," I should say--that's way more than oatmeal, and more than bran flakes or any other hot or cold cereal I've seen) 600 grams of Omegas and no saturated fat all sound very good for you. If offers 20% of the Daily Value of iron (see nutritional information below), without any added iron! Very rare. Perhaps it has to do with all those... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Cereal, February 4, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Nature's Path Organic Flax Plus Raisin Bran Cereal, 14-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) (Grocery)
This is very good cereal. It is healthier than most raisin cereals. I like it being organic too. The flax is also a plus. In the end, it is just slightly less desirable than the NP Pumpkin raisin cereal. But you will like this cereal.

If you own a steam roller (yes, I'm talking about the heavy duty industrial kind), place the raisins under it first, and pray that they don't crack the machine!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunningly Good!, May 15, 2010
This review is from: Cascadian Farm Organic Fruitful O's Cereal, 11-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I'm not sure what cereal the person who rated this previously was eating, but it wasn't the same Cascadian Farms Organic Fruitful O's that I ate! The cereal is simply delicious and so much better than Kellogg's Fruit Loops. Of course your kids will eat it! If not, you need to examine what you're feeding your kids. So much junk like Fruit Loops is not good for your kids. This is organic, colored with natural, non-toxic ingredients, and so stunningly great I'm in love with them!

Organic is how it's prepared, not how it tastes. People need to thing organic=grown without pesticides, it's that simple.

2.0 out of 5 stars High Hopes, July 8, 2012
This review is from: Cascadian Farm Organic Fruitful O's Cereal, 11-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I was always a fan of Froot Loops and so when I stopped eating all that crap and started eating more healthy I really missed my froot loops. I came across this cereal at Whole Foods and even though it was more money then I wanted to spend I thought that it sounded very good. I went in thinking that I was going to get something similar to froot loops but this cereal is nothing like them. I cant stress enough that if you want to try this cereal dont go into thinking you are going to get a healthy version of froot loops, this cereal is in its own category. The best way I think I can describe what this cereal is simpilar to would be the taste is more like Trix only not as sweet or flavorful, and they have the consistancy of Honey nut cherrios but much crunchier. They are so crunchy that it is almost bothersome, to me anyways. They dont get soggy in milk and are very filling for just 3/4 of a cup. I couldnt really taste one fruit flavor over the other, to be honest I cant detect any... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars I love it, but it's too pricey, June 20, 2012
    Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)

My kids and I both love this cereal. It is natural and the company is pretty well trusted for being non-GMO and organic. However, I wish it would get down to less than $3 a box on amazon (how about $2?). I'm not getting a deal here.

While I'm not a fan of 100% buckwheat hot cereal, I do mix it half-and-half with regular oatmeal and cook it either in the microwave or in a saucepan, and it's delicious. I also find that this mixture "holds" me longer than straight oatmeal. If you find that you get hungry too soon after breakfast, give this product a go---the price on Amazon is great, compared to what I've spent in the stores.

This is a good alternative to oatmeal. It takes a little while longer to make in the microwave than oatmeal, but it can be done at a lower power setting. (I microwave it for two minutes at 70% power as opposed to oatmeal for one minute at full power.) With a little pure maple syrup or agave nectar, it's very good.

This wonderful cereal has a unique, non-sweet taste which fruit enlivens considerably. I cook mine for 5 minutes in the microwave and wait a minute or two before eating it.
